This blog shows how an impoverished school for the visually impaired in Zambia teaches students about life beyond the classroom. Led by an inspirational headmaster who is also blind, the school has started several initiatives on the road to becoming more self sufficient.
Welcome!
Welcome, to the Ndola Lions School for the Visually Impaired blog!
The blog was created to increase awareness of this unique school in Ndola, Zambia that is both home and school to 130 students who have varying degrees of visual impairment. The school struggles to provide not only food for the students, but for supplies and aids required in this specialized environment.
A hungry child cannot concentrate during lessons, and without education, a child – especially with such a physical challenge, has little hope to succeed outside of a residential environment.
As you will see from looking through the blog, not only does the school teach the students to live in a darkened world, but it prepares them for life.
