Where is Ndola?
Ndola is the 3rd largest city in Zambia and is the capital of the Copperbelt Territory in the northern region. The country is politically stable but is plagued by high poverty levels and a life expectancy of only 48 years.
Why doesn't the Zambian Government fund all expenses at the school?
The Ndola Lions School for the Visually Impaired falls under the Ministry of Education. The government provides a monthly grant, but it only covers 1/3 of the monthly expenses.
May I designate where my funds are directed?
Yes. When you send your donation, please let us know where you would like to see funds go. If nothing is specified, we will use it for ongoing projects or food. We would also be happy to keep you updated on how your donation helped the students. How do I know my donation will go to the school?
We understand that our donors want to ensure their donations are used for the sole purpose of sustaining or enhancing the student’s lives. Please be assured that 100% of your donation goes towards supporting the students and will not be used for administrative purposes, salaries, utilities, etc.
Receipts will be issued for all donations and a letter of gratitude sent from the school. In addition, we are happy to provide updates and photos of where your donation has gone to if it was for a specific project.
Do you accept used Braille supplies or other needed Items?
